Photographed at the Reeves-Reed Arboretum in Summit, NJ, this image has special significance because of the urn. Their form and color are a cherished memory from my childhood in Camaguey, Cuba, a city renowned for its “tinajones” (tee-nah-ho-ness), large earthenware vessels used since Colonial times to collect water. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, as in this explosion of pink rhododendrons, the attraction was irresistible. Installed in July 2012 at the corner of Mountain Boulevard and Old Stirling Road, Warren Township, NJ.  Gallery 24/7 – Art on Traffic Control Boxes
